Description

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE SCGF) provides outstanding benefits and opportunities to students pursing graduate studies and research in scientific and engineering fields supported by the Office of Science. This includes physics, chemistry, biology (non-medical), mathematics, engineering, computational sciences, and areas of environmental sciences.

WDTS will award approximately 80 graduate fellowships to be funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). These fellowships will begin in the fall of the 2010-2011 academic year.

Each fellow is eligible to receive the following benefits for each of the three years of the fellowship: A yearly stipend of $35,000 for general living expenses. Stipends for fellows will be mailed or direct deposited on the last business day of each month. Fellows are eligible to receive up to $10,500 towards college/university tuition and fees. A $5000/year stipend will be issued for other expenses.

Once an applicant has been selected to receive the fellowship, the applicant will be required to provide proof of U.S. citizenship and proof of acceptance into a qualified graduate program by May 15, 2010 in order to receive the award. The applicant must also be enrolled in a qualified graduate degree program by September 15, 2010. ORISE will seek verification of enrollment from the host academic institution prior to issuing the award to the recipient and the recipient’s host institution.
