UC LEADS - Eligibility
Return to the UCSB Diversity Main Page
- Enrolled, or about to enroll, in a University of California undergraduate
degree program in the physical, life, or computer sciences, technology, engineering,
or mathematics.
- On track to receive your degree at the conclusion of the second year
of the UC LEADS program.
- A citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
- Have experienced situations or conditions which have adversely impacted
your advancement in your field of study, such as being the first member of
your family to attend college or having graduated from a high school with poor
financial or curricular support.
- Have the potential and commitment to succeed in a UC Ph.D. program.
- Are interested in promoting diversity in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.
- NOTE: Psychology or Geography majors must be pursing a B.S. or M.S. (B.A./M.A. in these two disciplines does not meet UC LEADS criteria).
The UC LEADS Program provides students the unique opportunity to experience
the training and dedication necessary for a successful graduate career.
UC LEADS
is designed for students who intend to pursue graduate-level academic programs,
and is not intended for students seeking medical, law, business, or other professional
degrees.
