Technology Management Graduate Degree Program

Description

Master of Technology Management (Professional 9-Month Master’s Degree)

Technology Management's Master of Technology Management (MTM) is a full-time, residential program designed for motivated students seeking to achieve leadership roles in innovation-driven enterprises. MTM’s student cohort comprises individuals with backgrounds in engineering, science, mathematics, the social sciences, and humanities, and on average, with one-to-five years of professional experience. This diversity enhances the student experience by deepening classroom discussion and allowing students to explore a range of problem-solving approaches. MTM curriculum draws upon research and education at the intersection of technology, business, and social science, and explores the theory and practice of product and corporate strategy, the management of products, projects, and teams, and the various methodologies for growing and scaling innovation-driven businesses. The MTM curriculum also includes a field practicum in which student teams have the opportunity to experience the practical application of theories and concepts learned. Many MTM students also choose to participate in Technology Management’s annual New Venture Competition which provides the opportunity to take a deep-dive into forming and building viable startup businesses that address real-world challenges and opportunities.

Ph.D. in Technology Management

Technology Management’s doctoral program is designed to produce exceptional scholars who study technology-related work, technological change, and innovation who will go on to research and teach at top universities across the country and around the world. The curriculum integrates organizational studies with technology and innovation studies in an interdisciplinary environment that transcends the distinctions between disciplines. We welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in the social sciences, physical sciences, management, or engineering. If you come from a technology or scientific background, we will teach you about the importance of organizations and social systems. If you have a social science or management background, you will learn to understand the role of technology and innovation in shaping organizational action. For most students, the program will take 4 to 5 years to complete.
